Junior (1 - 3 years experience ) Java EE developers required for our client in Amsterdam. Knowledge of the most used Java EE web technologies like Spring and Hibernate. Knowledge of GWT would be great.
Our client is a young and dynamic company specializing in the complete end-to-end delivery of high-impact J2EE web-applications – often with complex interfacing to legacy systems. Their staff are highly respected specialists who leverage modern methodologies (e.g. RUP, AGILE, SCRUM) and state-of-the-art technologies (like AJAX, Spring, Hibernate, GWT and a lot more). They are active with a range of clients in The Netherlands.
Your task
As a software developer you will work closely with external clients in a small team of highly respected specialists to develop j2ee web-applications. Backend developers will concentrate on technologies such as the Spring Framework MVC and Web-flows, will create a rigorously layered DOM, and build interfaces based on SOAP or REST web-services. Backend developers will also be familiar with JUnit, JProfile, JDepend, SoapUI and similar development aids.
You will work together with external clients and functional designers to optimize user experience, seek clarifications to implementation scenarios and complete estimations for project planning. Throughout the SDLC you will interact with clients to present prototypes and keep the client engaged in the development of the application. When not directly assigned to one of the projects, you will be engaged in a wide range of additional activities, such working with a small team to prepare proposals for projects, investigate/prototype new technologies and methodologies, participate in training and conferences, etc. Our client knows that their people are their key asset, and they strongly encourage an enthusiasm for both personal and career development.
Your profile
You have completed either HBO (Higher Vocational Training) or University in Information Technology. You have at least 1 year Java EE experience and are eager to learn and become a Java EE specialist. You are accurate and thorough, and want to fully understand exactly what you are developing. As an advantage, you will already be SUN certified as a Java developer. You have excellent verbal and written skills in English and Dutch.
